An ectopic pregnancy is when a fertilised egg implants itself outside of the womb, usually in one of the fallopian tubes.

This can result in symptoms of sharp, sudden, intense stomach pain, shoulder tip pain, feeling very dizzy or fainting, nausea and looking very pale.

We have dealt with a number of cases involving ectopic pregnancy. Mostly these have involved cases where the symptoms of ectopic pregnancy have not been detected as quickly as they should have been.

The cases have often resulted in loss of a fallopian tube which would otherwise have been avoided and we have claimed for the effect on the Claimant’s fertility and for the cost in the future of IVF treatment.

We appreciate that an ectopic pregnancy can be very painful and distressing and the consequences of a loss of a fallopian tube and the impact this can have on your ability to have a child can be enormous. Using our knowledge and expertise we will ensure that your claim is investigated fully and in a sensitive manner and that you receive the support and assistance you require.

If you think that you or a family member may have suffered an injury as a result of failures in the diagnosis or treatment of an ectopic pregnancy then you may be entitled to compensation.
