Steven Perkins qualified as a solicitor in 2010 and became a Partner at Freemans in January 2016. He specialises in medical negligence cases.
Steven was born in County Durham and has lived in the north east for most of his life. He graduated with a BSc in Biochemistry from the University of Sheffield in 2002. Following this he went on to complete the Legal Common Professional Examination and Legal Practice Course at Northumbria University securing commendations in both examinations whilst working as a paralegal at a large claimant firm in the north east.
Steven has worked in the area of clinical negligence since 2007 and has a varied and complex case load with significant experience in cases relating to failures in emergency medicine, general surgery, orthopaedic surgery and management, cancer diagnosis and the treatment of infections.
Steven prides himself on the relationships he builds with clients over the course of a claim, providing invaluable support and guidance thoughout the process. His scientific background and analytical approach are invaluable in examining the detailed evidence involved in complex litigation and ensuring the best possible outcome for his clients.
Steven is a member of the Law Society of England & Wales and the Newcastle upon Tyne Law Society.
Outside of work Steven enjoys music, photography and world cinema. He also enjoys travelling although with a young daughter now spends more time on campsites around the UK and on his allotment.
