Freemans Solicitors have helped New Hartley Juniors Football Club to kick off the 2017/2018 football season in style by providing some brand new football kit for their season ahead in the Durham County FA under 18's Football League.
New Hartley Juniors is a hugely successful under 18 football team with a long and proud history of attracting talented players from all over the north east, providing a platform for them to display their talents in front of scouts from professional and non-league clubs from all over the country, many of whom have gone on to bigger things.
One such success story is Ray Kennedy who left New Hartley Juniors to sign for Arsenal and also played for Liverpool and England in a glittering career. Ray won the League and FA Cup with Arsenal; 5 league titles, the League Cup, the UEFA cup and 3 European Cups at Liverpool, and also played for England 17 times.
This season marks 50 years since Ray joined New Hartley Juniors and the club had their most successful season ever – all whilst playing in tangerine strips the club won through the Evening Chronicle. Ray was top scorer that year and this season the club decided to recognise this and once again play in tangerine as worn by Ray.
Freemans became aware of this story through our own ex-player, Lee Watkins and wished to help New Hartley Juniors honour Ray and his achievements. Freemans solicitors are proud to sponsor the club and wish them the very best of luck for what will no doubt be another successful season.
